Zen Garden
Performed by Johnny Stranger
Written by Peter Anthony
Build a garden in your old age.
When the sun sets on tired days.
Walked a good path, with a few good bends.
Built a garden at the very end.
Why won’t the hurt just cease?
Why can’t I simply live in peace?
Build a garden.
Get your hands dirty.
Help Gaia invent tranquility,
with a little stream where the fish are jumping endlessly.
And it makes you remember…
All of those years behind.
The tapestry of a broken heart.
Love helps things grow.
Love brings meaning to the toil.
You can feel it in the soil.
You must soothe.
Knowing that there’s nothing left to lose.
Taking all the time you need to soothe.
Knowing that there’s nothing left to lose.
In your garden,
years grow like trees
to the soft buzz of the bumble bees.
In your garden,
lay down your fears
in a soft hush of rain and tears.
