jungle moon
Performed by Johnny Stranger
Written by Peter Anthony
Sometimes I go outside
to see the light of the pagan moon.
And in the firelight, I see your eyes,
So I call to you.
You step out of the trees, to come to me,
to wrap in arms.
Call the kookaburra to make a song,
to dance to.
I don’t know why it hurts this way,
but some of the time, it hurts to be alone.
I don’t know why it hurts this way,
but some of the time, it’s healthy to stay lonely.
Jungle moon is a rolling tomb.
Jungle moon is a rolling tomb.
Fire across the sky
and - in her eyes - embers that muse
Tonight we’ll intertwine
like serpent-kind, behold the moon.
I don’t know why it hurts this way,
but some of the time, it hurts to be alone.
I don’t know why it hurts this way,
but some of the time, it’s healthy to stay lonely.
Jungle moon is a rolling tomb.
Jungle moon is a rolling tomb.
